Our humus is derived from spent mushroom compost, a byproduct of the organic mushroom industry, that has been aged for over 3 years. From the picture in the description you can see what complete break down of material leaves you with: dark, nutrient rich humus. This ensures a product with completely broken down lignin, cellulose, and complex carbon material leaving you with bio-available nutrients that will stay in the soil profile and won’t leach away. Also as a result of being a by-product of the mushroom industry, our product is comprised of a unique fungal-dominated microbiome.
